REGINA, Saskatchewan (Ticker) -- Luca Congi kicked a 36-yard field goal with 51 seconds remaining to lift the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 30-29 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Steven Jyles came in for ineffective starter Darian Durant and completed 12-of-14 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown for the Roughriders (10-6), who pulled into a tie for second place in the West Division with the B.C. Lions (10-6), two points behind the Calgary Stampeders (11-5).
The Tiger-Cats (3-13) took a 29-20 lead with 17 straight points to begin the fourth quarter.
Quinton Porter, who finished with 300 yards on 26-of-40 passing, hit Scott Mitchell for a 40-yard score with 14:45 left in the game. Defensive back Jykine Bradley then gave Hamilton the lead when he returned Jyles' interception 22 yards to make it 26-20 with 13:36 to play.
A field goal pushed the advantage to 29-20.
But Saskatchewan responded with a 15-yard touchdown run by Wes Cates to pull to within 29-27 with 6:37 left, before Congi's field goal put his team on top.
The Tiger-Cats had a chance at the end, but Nick Setta missed a 54-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
Durant was pulled after throwing three interceptions among 16 pass attempts.
