MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Alexis Serna kicked a 32-yard field goal in the final minutes as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers posted a dramatic 24-23 victory over the Montreal Alouettes in a contest with no playoff implications.
Terrence Edwards and Romby Bryant each caught a TD pass for the Blue Bombers (7-10), who intercepted Anthony Calvillo to set up the winning boot.
Calvillo was forced to scramble out of the pocket and tossed an errant pass, which was picked off by Stanford Samuel to give the ball to Winnipeg on Montreal's 37 with 3:02 left. The Blue Bombers needed three plays to set the stage for Serna's kick with 1:32 left.
Both teams already had cemented their playoff positions entering this contest. Montreal is first in the East and will host the conference final, while Winnipeg holds second place and will play a home game in the semifinal against Edmonton on November 8.
Calvillo was 19-of-36 for 191 yards with a touchdown and interception for the Alouettes (11-6).
