Tiger-Cats name Bellefeuille coach
Oct 27, 2008 - 8:22 PM HAMILTON, Ontario (Ticker) -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats removed the interim tag on Marcel Bellefeuille on Monday, naming him the club's full-time coach.Tiger-Cats management is showing faith in Bellefeuille, who posted a 1-6 record since taking over from Charlie Taaffe on September 8.
"I feel that Marcel has shown the qualities necessary to lead our team as a head coach," Tiger-Cats general manager Bob O'Billovich said. "With our common vision, I look forward to working with Marcel as we continue to build the franchise into a perennial contender."
Bellefeuille joined the Tiger-Cats this season after spending two campaigns as offensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes.
"I am thrilled and appreciative for this opportunity," Bellefeuille said. "The team is definitely headed in the right direction and will be competitive and exciting as we move forward."
