Cardinals' Mulder, Molina undergo surgery

LOUIS (Ticker) -- St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder and catcher Yadier Molina each underwent surgery on Monday.Team physician Dr. George Paletta performed arthroscopic surgery on Mulder's left shoulder, which revealed only partial healing of his previous rotator cuff surgery on September 12, 2006.
According to the team's medical staff, Mulder is expected to pitch again in 2008.
The lefthander only made three starts this season, going 0-3 with a 12.27 ERA in 11 innings.
Molina had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and should be able to resume full athletic activities in four to six weeks.
The catcher was batting .275 with six home runs and 40 RBI in 111 games.
