Reds RHP Harang has strained forearm
Jul 10, 2008 - 10:55 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds righthander Aaron Harang has been diagnosed with a strained right forearm, the team announced on Thursday. An MRI came back normal, and the Reds have ruled out a serious arm injury. Harang will be evaluated again this weekend.
The 30-year-old Harang was slated to pitch against the Washington Nationals on Saturday, but had his start pushed back to Tuesday after complaining that his forearm was stiff.
On Tuesday, Harang was roughed up for six runs on five hits and a career-high seven walks over 4 1/3 innings in a 7-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. He said that his forearm did not bother him during that game.
A 16-game winner in each of the past two seasons, Harang is 3-11 with a 4.76 ERA this year.
