Reds P Harang remains on DL

Jul 23, 2008 - 9:08 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds righthander Aaron Harang reported no soreness in his injured right forearm Wednesday, one day after throwing pitches from distances of 70 feet.

Harang, who is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list, threw for the first time in 10 days Tuesday. The righthander has been sidelined since July 8 and has been limited to cardio rehab since.

"I feel different because I hadn't thrown in two weeks," Harang told the Reds' official web site Wednesday. "It's normal stiffness from starting to throw again, but nothing in my forearm."

Although the team medical staff has ruled out a ligament injury, the Reds want to proceed cautiously before activating their workhorse starter from the DL.

"It's all going to be day-to-day," Harang said. "It's all going to go on how it feels. We're going to keep working on it, stretching it out and strengthening it up."

A 16-game winner in each of the past two seasons, Harang is 3-11 with a 4.76 ERA this year.
