PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- New York Mets catcher Ramon Castro left Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth inning with a strained right quadriceps.

Castro was removed from the contest after hitting a grounder and reaching safely on an error by first baseman Ryan Howard. Brian Schneider came on to run for Castro and remained in the game at catcher.

Prior to leaving, Castro went 0-for-3. He is hitting .242 with seven home runs and 24 RBI in 43 games this season.
