Tigers 2B Polanco leaves with sprained ankle

Sep 27, 2008 - 12:47 AM DETROIT (Ticker) -- Detroit Tigers second baseman Placido Polanco left Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays in the first inning with a sprained left ankle.

X-Rays were negative and Polanco will be evaluated on Saturday.

The 32-year-old drew a walk in his lone at-bat. He suffered the injury while scoring from first base on a two-run double by Magglio Ordonez.

Polanco is hitting .307 with eight home runs and 58 RBI in 141 games.
