WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Nationals fired six members of their coaching staff Sunday, including bench coach Pat Corrales and hitting coach Lenny Harris.

Bullpen coach Rick Aponte, first base coach Jerry Morales, third base coach Tim Tolman and strength and conditioning coach Kazuhiko Tomooka also did not have their contracts renewed.

Randy St. Claire, who has been with the team since 2003 when it was known as the Montreal Expos, will return as pitching coach, according to Nationals general manager Jim Bowden.

"We appreciate all the coaches' hard work the last couple of years, but we felt the change was necessary," Bowden said.
