ATLANTA (Ticker) -- An MRI exam revealed that Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones has acute tendinitis in his right shoulder.

According to the Braves, the overall structure of the shoulder looked normal for a player of Jones' experience. Braves lead orthopedist Dr. Xavier Duralde has prescribed therapy for the shoulder, followed by a strength program.

Jones, 36, claimed his first career National League batting title this season, hitting .364 with 22 home runs and 75 RBI. He played in 128 games and was limited to only pinch-hitting duty in the final week of the season.
