MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Florida Marlins on Friday re-signed infielder Wes Helms to a two-year contract.
Helms, 32, appeared in 132 games this past season, batting .243 with five homers and 31 RBI. He has played with the Marlins in 2006 before spending the 2007 campaign with Philadelphia.
"After doing a great job for us in 2006, we welcomed Wes back to the Marlins this year and he again strengthened our bench and was a positive influence in the clubhouse," team president Larry Beinfest said.
