0 shoutsMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks will miss the rest of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies with a sprained left knee.
Weeks suffered the injury in Game Three on Saturday when he stepped awkwardly on first base trying to beat out a ground ball in the bottom of the second inning.
The Brewers removed Weeks from the roster Sunday, replacing him with infielder Alcides Escobar. Should the Brewers rally from 2-1 series deficit against the Phillies, Weeks would not be eligible to play in the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He would be eligible to return if the Brewers reach the World Series.
