Brewers name Kyles as bullpen coach

Nov 14, 2008 - 7:27 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers coaching shuffle is complete.

The club on Friday named Stan Kyles bullpen coach, the final move in what has been an active offseason in the Brewers' coaching ranks.

The Brewers hired Ken Macha as manager late last month and the former Oakland Athletics skipper has been busy since arriving.

Macha made his most notable move last week when he announced that former New York Mets manager Willie Randolph would be coming aboard as the team's bench coach.

Dale Sveum, who served as interim manager after the Brewers fired Ned Yost in September, was named hitting coach days before the Randolph announcement.

Additionally, Bill Castro was promoted from bullpen coach to pitching coach, creating the opportunity for Kyles.

Currently coaching in the Dominican Winter League with Azucareros Del Este, Kyles has been with the organization since 2001. The 47-year-old has spent the past four years as the pitching coach of the Class AAA Nashville Sounds.
