Red Sox acquire RHP Littleton from Rangers

Nov 28, 2008 - 10:45 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox acquired pitcher Wes Littleton on Friday from the Texas Rangers for a player to be named and cash considerations.

Littleton had been designated for assignment a week ago.

The 26-year-old righthander has made 80 relief appearances with the Rangers over the last three seasons.

Littleton had no record with a 6.00 ERA in 12 contests over three stints with Texas in 2008. He spent the bulk of the year at Class AAA Oklahoma, going 7-1 with six saves and a 4.01 ERA.
