Athletics add Skaalen, Steverson to coaching staff
Dec 22, 2008 - 7:19 PM OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Oakland Athletics on Monday named Jim Skaalen as hitting coach and Todd Steverson as first base coach.Skaalen, 54, joins the A's after serving as the hitting coach for the Milwaukee Brewers for the past two seasons.
In his first season with the Brewers, the team hit a franchise-record and league-leading 231 home runs.
Steverson, 37, spent the past four seasons managing in the A's minor league system.
