Report: Orioles agree with LHP Hendrickson

Dec 29, 2008 - 4:54 PM BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Orioles reportedly have increased their pitching depth.

According to a report Monday in the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles have agreed to a deal with lefthander Mark Hendrickson.

Terms were not disclosed.

The newspaper reported that Hendrickson will take a physical this week to finalize the deal.

Hendrickson, 34, has a 50-63 record with a 5.07 ERA over parts of seven seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Florida Marlins.

Last season, the 6-10 Hendrickson went 7-8 with a 5.45 ERA in 36 games, including 19 starts, for the Marlins.

Hendrickson is expected to help round out Baltimore's starting rotation behind ace righthander Jeremy Guthrie.
