Los Angeles Angels

Team Report

RHP John Lackey has had a miserable history at Fenway Park.
Coming into this series, he had a 6.34 career ERA at the park,
winning just two of his eight starts and giving up 61 hits in 44
innings. However, he started two games there this series and
performed well, giving up just four runs in 13 2/3 innings.
However, he had a loss and a no-decision for his efforts. ...
The Angels left 43 runners on base during the ALDS, falling just
six short of the division-series record held by the 1995 Seattle
Mariners. The Mariners, however, did it in five games and ended
up winning the series. ... 2B Howie Kendrick suffered through an
eminently forgettable series, going 2-for-18 with seven
strikeouts, while leaving 13 runners on base. In Game Three, he
misjudged Jacoby Ellsbury's pop fly with two outs in the second
inning, allowing it to drop in front of him while three runs
scored. In Monday's Game Four, he misplayed Ellsbury's
fifth-inning grounder, getting just one out on what should have
been an inning-ending double play. ... The Angels did not hit
into a single double play during the four-game series. ... 1B
Mark Teixeira and RF-DH Vladimir Guerrero each hit .467 during
the series, but had just one extra-base hit and one RBI between
them.
