Wade, Nowitzki earn weekly honors
Nov 24, 2008 - 8:43 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade was named the Eastern Conference's Player of the Week on Monday.Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki earned the Western Conference honor.
Wade led Miami to a 2-1 week, averaging a league-best 32.3 points along with 9.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks.
On Wednesday, Wade joined former Phoenix Suns star Alvan Adams as the only players in NBA history to record at least 40 points, 10 assists and five blocks in a game, when he had 40 points, 11 assists and five blocks against the Toronto Raptors.
Nowitzki led the Mavericks to a perfect 3-0 week with wins over Charlotte, Houston and Memphis en route to his ninth career award. He averaged a double-double during that stretch with 27.0 points and 10.3 rebounds.
