Heat F Beasley out Friday with the flu
Dec 13, 2008 - 12:59 AM MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Miami Heat are without one of their key players Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks as they battle for second place in the Southeast Division.Rookie forward Michael Beasley is out with the flu, leaving the Heat (12-9) shorthanded as they go for their fifth consecutive win. They have pulled even at second in the division with the Hawks, who have dropped three straight.
Beasley, the second overall pick of this year's draft out of Kansas State, is missing the first game of his NBA career. The team's top weapon off the bench, the 6-9, 235-pound forward is second on the team with 13.9 points per game this season. He also averages 5.2 boards.
