Pacers G-F Granger suffers apparent neck injury

Dec 27, 2008 - 6:17 AM MEMPHIS (Ticker) -- Indiana Pacers swingman Danny Granger left Friday's 108-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a sore neck.

Granger, who entered the game fifth in the NBA in scoring at 24.4 points per game, did not return after falling hard to the floor while running back on defense on a fast-break opportunity for the Grizzlies.

"I collided with my teammate, Jarrett Jack, and snapped my head back," said Granger, who scored 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting before his departure.

"I took a good hit from his shoulder and got a concussion, basically. I'll take some CT scans and stuff and take a few tests and I think I should be all right."

It has been an injury-riddled season for Indiana, which also played without guard T.J. Ford (back spasms) on Friday.

The Pacers, however, did get back Marquis Daniels and Troy Murphy, who had to be hospitalized this week with viral infections. Granger also missed two games with a similar virus.
