Kings G Martin returns to lineup

Dec 31, 2008 - 6:57 AM SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Martin returned to the lineup Tuesday, helping his team snap a six-game losing streak with a 92-90 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Martin had missed the last 10 games with a severely sprained ankle but returned to score 20 points on 5-of-14 shooting.

"It felt good to be back out there with the guys," Martin said. "Everybody knows we just needed a win, any way we can get it. I think the most impressive thing was we shot 16 percent in the fourth quarter and were down by one going into the fourth, and we found a way to pull out a win."

The fifth-year pro was originally hurt on November 9 against Golden State and missed 12 games before returning on December 2.

But after playing in just two games, Martin was again sidelined and had not played before coming off the bench Tuesday.

Martin is leading Sacramento in scoring at 20.7 points per game after averaging 23.7 last season.
