Cavaliers C Ilgauskas has small fracture in ankle
Jan 3, 2009 - 12:50 AM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The return of Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas remains uncertain after an MRI taken Friday revealed a small chip fracture in his left ankle. The 7-3 Ilgauskas has been bothered by a left ankle sprain suffered in a win over Philadelphia on December 10.
He had continued to play through the sprain but missed Friday's contest against the Chicago Bulls. Anderson Varejao started in his place.
The Lithuanian now will undergo continued treatment, including a period of left ankle immobilization to enhance healing over the next two weeks. His status will be updated following that period.
