Hornets C Chandler suspended one game
Jan 3, 2009 - 8:54 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New Orleans Hornets center Tyson Chandler has been suspended one game for an altercation with Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla, the league announced on Saturday.Chandler will serve his suspension on Saturday when the Hornets visit the Denver Nuggets. Przybilla was fined $7,500 for his role.
The incident occurred in the third quarter of Friday's 92-77 win over Portland. Chandler elbowed Przybilla in the neck.
The 7-1 Przybilla responded with a forearm to the chest before officials and teammates stepped in to diffuse the potentially explosive situation.
