Southern Mississippi signs Eustachy to two-year extension
Apr 5, 2007 - 9:27 PM HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Southern Mississippi on Thursday signed men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy to a two-year contract extension.In three seasons at Southern Mississippi, Eustachy has posted a 41-49 record. The Golden Eagles went 20-11 this past season, including a 9-7 mark in Conference USA.
"I feel extremely loyal to Southern Miss because of the loyalty shown to me three years ago when I was hired," Eustachy said. "There was never any doubt that this is where I wanted to be."
Prior to coming to Southern Miss, Eustachy went 101-59 in five seasons at Iowa State.
In 2003, Eustachy made headlines in The Des Moines Register and around the nation by attending a student party in Columbia, Missouri, where he was photographed drinking and kissing female students. He was fired after that incident.
