Florida St. G Swann out indefinitely

Feb 8, 2008 - 12:20 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Florida State senior guard Isaiah Swann's collegiate career appears to be over.

The Tampa Tribune reported on Thursday that Swann is out indefinitely after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee.

Swann, who has played 120 straight games, suffered the injury when he fell awkwardly on a drive to the basket in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Miami on Wednesday, according to the paper.

FSU spokesman Chuck Walsh told the Tribune it is too early to tell if Swann needs surgery.

The 6-2 Swann, who is averaging 11.8 points, is a key part of the Seminoles (14-10, 3-6 ACC) three-guard attack. Swann has started 21 of 24 games this season and is fifth in the ACC in 3-pointers with 2.25 baskets per game.

"We feel badly for Isaiah because he is a valuable member of our team and a great teammate," FSU coach Leonard Hamilton told the Tribune.

"Our team physician and our athletic trainer will monitor Isaiah daily and work with him regarding his treatment and rehabilitation process."

The Seminoles, who snapped a three-game losing streak with a 62-55 win over the Hurricanes, are off until next Wednesday when they host Wake Forest.
