F Bouchie transfers to Evansville

May 20, 2008 - 5:17 PM EVANSVILLE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Forward Bryan Bouchie is transferring to Evansville, the school announced on Tuesday.

The 6-11 Bouchie comes to the Purple Aces after completing his freshman season with Valparaiso, averaging 7.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in 36 games.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Bouchie will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2009-10.

"I'm coming to Evansville because I like the people and the coaches," Bouchie said. "I'm excited about getting down there and getting started. We're definitely going to win in the next few years at Evansville."

"Bryan has a chance to be a really good player for us," Evansville coach Marty Simmons said. "He's a 6-10 guy who runs the floor well. He has very good hands, he can score in a variety of ways, and he's a winner."

Bouchie recorded a career-high 23 points against Maryland Eastern Shore on November 23. He also faced off with his future team, collecting eight points, five rebounds and two assists in a win over Evansville on December 11.

The Purple Aces went 9-21, including 3-15 in the Missouri Valley Conference, in their first season under Simmons.
