UMKC signs hoops coach Brown to extension
Sep 24, 2008 - 4:48 PM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The University of Missouri-Kansas City on Wednesday signed men's basketball coach Matt Brown to a contract extension through the 2012-2013 season.In his first season in Kansas City, Brown guided the Kangaroos to an 11-21 record, including a 6-12 mark in Summit League play.
"Mike Brown is conducting his program in a first-class manner - in all areas," UMKC director of athletics Tim Hall said. "He is laying the foundation for future success for UMKC men's basketball and the more broad athletic department.
"Building a strong foundation takes time and I wanted to assure Matt, his staff and future recruits that we are committed to building something long enduring."
