Southern Mississippi headed to New Orleans Bowl
Dec 3, 2008 - 10:47 PM HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- The University of Southern Mississippi announced Wednesday it has accepted an invitation to the New Orleans Bowl.The Golden Eagles (6-6) will face the winner of Saturday's Troy-Arkansas State game on December 21 at the Louisiana Superdome.
"We are extremely excited about going to the New Orleans Bowl," coach Larry Fedora said. "This is a tremendous bowl setting. We hope that our fans will come down and support us and the bowl."
It marks the third appearance in the New Orleans Bowl for Southern Mississippi, which won the event in 2004 and 2005.
