RUSTON, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Former Southern Mississippi quarterback Randy Hardin has transferred to Louisiana Tech, Bulldogs coach Derek Dooley announced Wednesday.
Hardin, who redshirted as a freshman last season, will miss the 2008 campaign but will have three years of remaining eligibility.
A three-star recruit out of the state of Florida, the 6-foot Hardin said he felt extremely comfortable while visiting Louisiana Tech's campus.
"I had a great visit and really enjoyed the family-type atmosphere," he said. "I hung out with some of the guys, and they all seemed like a tight-knit group.
"I really felt the family vibe. I think I can contribute with the offense they run and that I fit their style. I'm looking forward to coming at Tech."
Louisiana Tech posted a 5-7 record last season, including a 4-4 mark in the Western Athletic Conference.
