Clemson RB Spiller out vs. Georgia Tech

Oct 16, 2008 - 11:55 PM BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Clemson running back C.J. Spiller will miss Saturday's contest against Atlantic Coast Conference rival Georgia Tech, according to report Thursday on ESPN.com.

One-half of the Tigers' talented running back tandem, Spiller suffered a pulled hamstring during last week's 12-7 loss to Wake Forest. The junior had 10 yards on just two carries.

Splitting time with James Davis, Spiller rushed for 314 yards and five touchdowns this season. He has not had a 100-yard game on the campaign.

ESPN is also reporting that quarterback Cullen Harper will undergo surgery after suffering a shoulder fracture on his non-throwing arm in the same game. He is expected to miss two-to-four weeks.

Harper, who was highly critical of recently departed coach Tommy Bowden, passed for 1,121 yards and four touchdowns with six interceptions.

Redshirt freshman Willy Korn will start at quarterback.
