Penn State QB Clark to play vs. Iowa

Nov 4, 2008 - 9:23 PM STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Penn State quarterback Daryll Clark likely will play Saturday when the second-ranked Nittany Lions face Iowa.

Clark suffered a mild concussion against Ohio State on October 25 but has been practicing over the last two weeks, Penn State head coach Joe Paterno said Tuesday.

"I felt, according to what everybody told me, he would be ready this weekend, this upcoming game against Iowa," Paterno said. "He was out there yesterday and was having a good day practicing. He practiced well."

Clark has been one of the most important players this season for an undefeated Penn State squad that currently is ranked third in the BCS standings.

Clark has completed 63 percent of his passes for 1,652 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions this season. The junior also has rushed for 229 yards and eight TDs.

The Nittany Lions (9-0) have been idle since defeating the Buckeyes, 13-6, in Columbus.
