Oregon State RB Rodgers doubtful for Oregon
Nov 25, 2008 - 7:47 PM CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- One win away from the Rose Bowl, 17th-ranked Oregon State could be without its top offensive threat for Saturday's "Civil War" game against No. 18 Oregon.Beavers coach Mike Riley said Tuesday that star freshman tailback Jacquizz Rodgers, the leading rusher in the Pac-10 Conference, is "very doubtful" after suffering a grade 2 shoulder strain early in last week's 19-17 victory at Arizona.
When asked about the results of Rodgers' MRI, Riley said, "I can't talk about that.''
Rodgers, who has rushed for 1,253 yards this season, was limited to 20 yards on four carries against Arizona.
With a victory against Oregon, the Beavers will clinch their first Rose Bowl berth since 1965.
