Oregon State star RB Rodgers out

Nov 29, 2008 - 10:43 PM CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon State is a win away from the Rose Bowl. But the Beavers will have to get to Pasadena without one of their main offensive weapons.

The Beavers will be without star running back Jacquizz Rodgers on Saturday when they take on Oregon in a huge Pac-10 Conference showdown.

A freshman, Rodgers leads the Pac-10 Conference in rushing and is a main reason why Oregon State is in line for its first Rose Bowl bid since 1965. Rodgers hurt his shoulder in the second quarter of last week's win over Arizona.

Rodgers has rushed for 1,253 yards this season and could become the first freshman to win a Pac-10 rushing title. He's averaging 113.9 yards a game and has 11 touchdowns.
