Missouri TE Coffman questionable for Oklahoma
Dec 2, 2008 - 11:32 PM COLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Missouri tight end Chase Coffman is questionable for Saturday's Big 12 Conference championship game against No. 2 Oklahoma due to a lingering turf toe injury. After missing the previous two games, Coffman hobbled off the field after the first play in last week's 40-37 loss to Kansas.
He returned, however, and caught six passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns despite being limited physically.
"I went out on the first play and tried to give it 100 percent and probably shouldn't have," Coffman said after the game. "I tweaked it a little bit."
Despite missing the two games, Coffman is Missouri's second-leading receiver with 79 receptions for 872 yards and nine TDs.
"Chase certainly played in the (Kansas) game and did some good things," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said. "We're just kind of working through that. Hopefully we'll have him back and ready to go."
No one has shouted yet.
