Clemson to play in Gator Bowl
Dec 3, 2008 - 10:52 PM CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Clemson has accepted a bid to represent the Atlantic Coast Conference in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, the school announced Wednesday.The Tigers (7-5) finished the regular season by winning four of their last five games, including a 31-14 win over rival South Carolina on Saturday.
"We are thrilled to be invited to the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl," said Dabo Sweeney, who was officially named head coach on Monday. Sweeney had been serving on an interim basis since October 13 after Tommy Bowden resigned.
The Gator Bowl will be played in Jacksonville, Florida on January 1.
