South Carolina CB Munnerlyn to enter NFL draft
Jan 2, 2009 - 12:00 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- South Carolina cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and linebacker Eric Norwood announced Thursday that they will forego their senior seasons to enter the NFL draft.The teammates announced the decision following a 31-10 loss to Iowa in the Outback Bowl.
"Me and Norwood both talked to our folks and I think the best decision for me and my family is to go ahead and leave," Munnerlyn said. "It's time for me to move on."
Munnerlyn had four tackles against the Hawkeyes, bringing his total to 44 on the season. The 5-9, 185-pounder finished his career with 123 tackles, one forced fumble and five interceptions.
Norwood had nine tackles in the loss and finished as South Carolina's all-time leader with 43 tackles for a loss.
