UConn RB Brown opts for NFL draft
Jan 4, 2009 - 12:02 AM TORONTO (Ticker) -- After leading his team to a 38-20 victory over Buffalo in the International Bowl, Connecticut running back Donald Brown announced Saturday that he will enter the NFL draft."I'm not coming back," Brown said after rushing for a career-high 261 yards. "I'm going to pursue the NFL."
The leading rusher in the Football Bowl Subdivision, Brown said three weeks ago that he would return to UConn for his senior season.
He concluded this season with a school-record 2,083 yards rushing and set another UConn record with 18 touchdowns.
Brown fell just short of the Huskies' single-game rushing record of 277 yards set by Nick Giaquinto in 1976.
No one has shouted yet.
