Season over for Raiders RB Fargas
Dec 18, 2007 - 8:08 AM WALNUT CREEK, California (Ticker) - Oakland Raiders running back Justin Fargas suffered a right medial collateral ligament sprain that likely has ended his season.Fargas suffered the injury in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Coach Lane Kiffin on Monday told the Contra Costa Times that he believes the injury will keep Fargas out of the team's final two games - against Jacksonville and San Diego.
"He won't play this week and most likely won't play the rest of the year," Kiffin said at his weekly press conference Monday.
Fargas, who underwent an MRI on Monday, was walking very stiffly, according to the newspaper.
Despite not earning the full-time starting job until Week Nine, Fargas has rushed for 1,009 yards and four touchdowns on 222 carries this season.
Fargas had back-to-back games of 139 and 146 yards rushing in leading the Raiders (4-10) to victories over Kansas City (20-17) and Denver (34-20).
