IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens moved into second place on the NFL's all-time touchdown receptions list after catching the 131st of his career in Monday's 41-37 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Owens passed Cris Carter on the all-time list after reeling in a 72-yard pass from quarterback Tony Romo to give Dallas a 7-3 advantage with 7:46 remaining in the first quarter.
The 34-year-old wideout added a four-yard scoring strike from Romo with 10:02 remaining in the second quarter to give the Cowboys a 21-20 lead.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and former teammate Jerry Rice is the league's all-time leader with 197 touchdowns.
For Owens, who signed a three-year contract extension worth $27 million in the offseason, he finished with three catches for 89 yards. He did not have a catch in the second half.
The talented receiver had five receptions for 87 yards and a score in the Cowboys' 28-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week One.
In his first two seasons with the Cowboys, Owens recorded 171 catches for 2,622 yards and 29 touchdowns. He holds the team's single-season record with 15 TDs set last year.
A third-round pick of San Francisco in 1996, Owens has 887 receptions - which is ninth-best in NFL history - in 12 seasons with the 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys.
Owens has hauled in at least 13 touchdown catches in seven seasons; only Rice has managed eight seasons with that many scoring passes. The combustible wideout also had eight 1,000-yard seasons, including five straight from 2000-04.
