IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams will miss at least three weeks with a fractured right forearm suffered during Monday's 41-37 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Williams immediately went to the sideline after tackling Quintin Demps on a kickoff return in the third quarter.
The five-time Pro Bowler did not return and team doctors said after the game that he will undergo surgery on Tuesday to implant a plate and screws in the forearm to stabilize the fracture.
One of the league's hardest-hitting safeties, Williams has 508 tackles, 19 interceptions and returned three for touchdowns in his career with the Cowboys. He has missed only one game in his career, sitting out the December 27, 2007 meeting against the Carolina Panthers after being suspended for a contest after repeated "horse collar" tackles.
Pat Watkins replaced Williams against the Eagles and will likely assume the starting safety role for the Cowboys.
