METAIRIE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- New Orleans Saints rookie cornerback Tracy Porter underwent surgery to repair a dislocated right wrist, the team announced Tuesday.
Porter was injured during Monday night's 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings while defending a pass from Gus Frerotte to Bernard Berrian. He was taken to the hospital Monday night and was scheduled to be released Tuesday.
"His wrist was dislocated," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "He had a procedure done to put it back in place, so we'll have an announcement, I think, soon in regards to the time frame.
"Right now I don't want to speculate, but I know the procedure went well."
Porter was the Saints' second-round draft pick and won the starting job in training camp. Through the first five games, he has 25 tackles, a sack and one interception.
