Chiefs RB Charles leaves game with ankle injury
Nov 9, 2008 - 10:27 PM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Jamaal Charles left Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers with an undisclosed ankle injury.Charles had just one carry for minus-one yard before leaving the game. His return is questionable.
The injury continued a string of woes for Kansas City's backfield. All-Pro running back Larry Johnson was suspended for Sunday's game by the NFL for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.
Johnson had sat out the previous three games while dealing with a number of personal issues. Backup Kolby Smith suffered a season-ending injury in last week's loss to Tampa Bay.
Charles, a third-round pick this year, replaced Smith last week and rushed for 106 yards on 18 carries.
No one has shouted yet.
