Eagles RB Westbrook, CB Samuel sit out practice again

Nov 25, 2008 - 8:10 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Eagles running backs Brian Westbrook and Correll Buckhalter missed practice for a second straight day Tuesday.

Cornerback Asante Samuel also sat out Tuesday's practice, putting the trio's availability in doubt for Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Westbrook, who has been battling knee and ankle injuries for most of the season, has swelling on the knee. Buckhalter suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Samuel suffered a neck stinger in Sunday's game, according to Eagles coach Andy Reid.

Injuries have forced Westbrook to miss two games and limited his effectiveness the past four weeks.

After rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-14 win over Atlanta on October 26, Westbrook has managed a total of 186 yards and zero TDs in the past four games.

Buckhalter has a total of 11 carries in the past five games.

Samuel, in his first season with Philadelphia after signing a rich free-agent deal in the offseason, leads the team with three interceptions.
