Bears place CB Vasher on IR

Nov 29, 2008 - 6:34 PM LAKE FOREST, Illinois (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears on Saturday placed cornerback Nathan Vasher on season-ending injured reserve with a fractured hand.

It was the second straight year that Vasher has his season cut short by injury, as he was limited to four games in 2007 due to a groin injury.

A 2005 Pro Bowler, Vasher has 18 interceptions in four-plus seasons with the Bears, who host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday with first place in the NFC North at stake.

In a corresponding roster move, the Bears promoted fullback Jason Davis from the practice squad to the active roster.
