Bills QB Edwards out with groin injury

Nov 30, 2008 - 10:41 PM ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards left Sunday's 10-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at the intermission with a groin injury.

Bills coach Dick Jauron said that Edwards sustained the injury early in the game. Edwards remained in the contest, completing 10-of-21 passes for 112 yards before the half.

"Trent hurt his groin early in the game, just couldn't push off on the right side, couldn't get any velocity on the ball, couldn't throw it," Jauron said. "So that was the reason for the change. Maybe should of done it earlier in the game but stayed with it until halftime."

Edwards, who also has five rushing yards, entered the game with 2,266 passing yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.

Facing a 10-0 halftime deficit, Buffalo inserted J.P. Losman at quarterback but with little success. Losman completed 11-of-17 passes for 93 yards.
