Packers release P Frost, place LB Barnett on IR

Dec 1, 2008 - 10:29 PM GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- The Green Bay Packers placed linebacker Nick Barnett on injured reserve and released punter Derrick Frost on Monday.

Barnett suffered a torn knee ligament in a 28-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on November 9 and has been out of action since. The six-year veteran made 49 tackles and forced a fumble in nine games this season.

Defensive end Kenny Pettway also was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury while defensive tackle Alfred Malone and cornerback Joe Porter were signed from the practice squad.
