SECAUCUS, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New York Red Bulls signed goalkeeper Terry Boss to a senior contract on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 27-year-old Boss was the USL Second Division's Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2007-08 season, leading the Charlotte Eagles to the league championship game, where they fell to the Cleveland City Stars.

During the regular season, Boss led the league with 11 wins and nine shutouts.

"Terry has been training with us over the past few weeks and we were impressed with what he brings to the table," the team's sporting director Jeff Agoos said. "We want to take the remainder of the season to evaluate him as an option for next year."

Boss also spent time with the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USL's First Division in 2006, making him eligible to play for the Puerto Rican National Team. In March, he registered a clean sheet for Puerto Rico in a 1-0 overtime victory over the Dominican Republic in a World Cup qualifier.
