Carroll, Rolfe added to U.S. national team roster
Oct 13, 2008 - 11:37 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Columbus Crew midfielder Brian Carroll and Chicago Fire forward Chris Rolfe were added to the United States national team's roster on Monday.The pair, which replaced Colorado Rapids veteran midfielder Pablo Mastroeni and Columbus forward Robbie Rogers, will play for the Americans in Wednesday's match against Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain.
Mastroeni suffered a knee injury during the Rapids' 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday, while Rogers injured his back in the Crew's 2-2 draw with the Fire.
After soundly thrashing Cuba in a 6-1 triumph on Saturday, the United States clinched a spot in the CONCACAF qualifying finals for the 2012 World Cup.
