Red Bulls D Mendes out 2-3 weeks
Oct 23, 2008 - 10:16 PM SECAUCUS, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Red Bulls defender Carlos Mendes underwent surgery on Thursday to repair a sports hernia.The procedure was performed in Munich, Germany by Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck and will force the 27-year-old to miss two to three weeks.
Mendes has made 17 appearances this season for New York, which can clinch a playoff berth with a win Thursday against the Chicago Fire.
