Werder Bremen wins in Bundesliga
Nov 16, 2008 - 7:41 PM Werder Bremen got their title challenge back on track Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Cologne.Thomas Schaaf's side have struggled for form over the past six weeks but this win moved them to within eight points of joint leaders Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim.
Diego opened the scoring with a penalty after 15 minutes and Naldo made it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime.
Milivoje Novakovic pulled a goal back on 48 minutes but Hugo Almeida's long-range effort seven minutes later settled the encounter.
Cologne have not won in Bremen since 1995 and didn't look like ending that run once Brazil playmaker Diego put the home side ahead.
